Taking pictures makes me happy, it’s as simple as that. Ever since I purchased my first digi cam in 2002, I am not going anywhere without having a camera with me. From the moment I got my first DSLR in late 2009, I put more efforts into the entire thing and tried to improve. For this reason, I have now – once again – removed most of my old work from this site and – along with a new one-page design – show only pics starting from 2010 and later.
Living in a Lower Saxonian small town which is right in the middle of Germany, I’m far away from the sea shores as well as from the Alp mountains. Visitors usually say it’s a beautiful area, but from a photographer’s point of view, I find this landscape a little frustrating because you can hardly take any pictures without dark green wooded hills limiting the horizon. I’m bored with that by now which is why I haven’t taken too many landscape shots lately.
However, looking back, I have to admit that my interests have noticeably changed. During the first years, I enjoyed nature photography the most, or portraying animals, sometimes people as well. I still like to do that, but meanwhile, I’m more interested in event photography, in capturing the moments and the atmosphere. With several art exhibitions and concerts around here this year I hope I will soon be able to add some more event-related galleries to this page. So check in every once in a while – if you like – to find out what’s new.
